BIOGRAPHY:
Born in Perth, Australia, Andrea Fuenzalida (Drea) has also lived in the Northern Territories, Canada, Chile, and currently calls San Francisco, California her home. Through both her conceptual and fine art Drea purposes to bring healing and strength to humanity by channeling positive energy into the dream-time; as well as explore the colors and shapes which describe powerful life energy. While her subject matter includes a wide variety, she portrays them through the use of elements of nature, ancient symbols, geometry, animals, and people, often depicting the vibrations and spiritual energies seen by the mind’s eye.
Drea’s formal training includes a BFA in Computer Animation, and is skillful in a wide variety of both digital and traditional techniques, including her specialties of Acrylic Painting and Digital Illustration using Photoshop and Illustrator. In her acrylic paintings, Drea utilizes highly saturated colors, metallic, gel mediums, and both textural and visual effects to create truly unique pieces out of any subject matter. With additional experience in sculpting and hand-sewn creations, Drea is a very accomplished artist, indeed.
Through her digital endeavors, Drea creates custom pieces requested by her clients. Mostly, this entails marketing collateral for small, local entities, including start-ups and non-profits. Many of her clients are involved in making a positive impact through efforts related to community, environment, health or well-being, and arts and entertainment. This suits Drea well, as she sees art as powerful magic that allows her to paint a positive reality into the universe.
