ARTIST STATEMENT:
Merlin Flower experiments with materials, styles, lines, people, places and colors. Merlin’s art arrive in different ways. Sometimes it is an idea transformed. More often, though, it’s just impulsive instinct. The colors too take traction of their own. Art is as it is, you see. Some art works are chaotic, some pleasing and some serene. The men and women in the painting too come of their own will. Indeed, they have a life of their own.
Merlin doesn’t need motivation to paint. Neither does appreciation/depreciation matter as ultimately a black canvas wouldn’t know the history of the artist. All said, everyone should paint and buy art.
