BIOGRAPHY:
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1964, and raised in Canada with my one foot in Canada and the other in Ireland since my huge extended family still lived there and still does. I was exposed to many different forms of art at an early age and was always exposed to the arts due to the extremely creative people in my life, writers, artists, so learning to express myself through art came easy and and as my love of creative expression grew so did my palette for drawing and painting. Never formally taught never feeling the need to be, but always taking an art class here and there to keep myself exposed and current to what was around. I consider myself a life learner and this has helped me stay creative throughout my artistic life. Life happens and I put my art on the backburner to raise a family and have a career in healthcare, until recently. The opportunity to become a full time artist presented itself with a move to the country where inspiration is all around me and my creative juices flow freely, the support of family and friends have helped to guide me on this new excitng life path.

Now with my life experiences and a passion for creating I have found my creative outlets to be in two mediums. Clay and paint. Clay being highly tactile and paint being more cerebral, I find the combination perfect for conveying our connectivity to one another and to our surroundings.
My life experiences with my former career working with the elderly and dying, and also as a parent have shown me that life is short and you have to live it to the fullest every day as cliche as that sounds, it is our only real truth at the end. I am extremely lucky that art has helped me immensely with this realization and being self aware, it is a passion that holds no boundaries for me. I paint what I feel in my abstracts and I paint the beauty of our world around us on canvas, this to me is a privilege and to be able share it with others is a gift. Any emotion good or bad that I can draw from another with my clay work or painting is always a good emotion. My goal is to draw out emotion negative or positive if I have been able to do that then I have achieved my goal. I have connected.
To achieve my paintings I use whatever it takes to get the end result, paintbrushes are also an option. In working with clay the ideas happen as I move clay in various ways and it becomes what it is meant to be.
This is my creative process.
I have found my new life path with art lets see what new adventures lie ahead.
