BIOGRAPHY:
Pamela Meredith was born in the small inland town of Temora, New South Wales(NSW), Australia; but fortunately for art lovers who desire seascapes, she now resides in Bulli, NSW; a beachside suburb of Wollongong on the south coast of Australia. From here she studies the crashing of the waves and translates that motion to canvas. You can almost feel the spray coming up from the crashing waves.
There is little doubt that Pamela’s skill with the brush is a result of hard work and dedication to the craft. Since 2000, she has studied with another local artist, Peter Bates, who has helped develop her skill with oil paint. But her attention to detail did not begin, nor did it end with oils and landscapes. Pamela has also studied fashion design and technology, as well as worked as a wedding dress designer.
More recently she takes every opportunity afforded her to learn, or further develop, her skills. For example, she has taken workshops in acrylics and watercolors, face studies, and portraiture, to name a few. Additionally, she has sought opportunities to learn techniques such as painting acrylics as watercolors.
Pamela works in acrylics, oils, and watercolors, and as you can see in the examples below, she is quite accomplished in all three. In fact, she is an award winning artist, having previously been recognized for her work in portraiture and landscapes. Pamela’s art is available to local patrons in exhibitions and at local cafés.
